Dignity and a birthday wish

Two blogs in two days--go me! I have another two cards to show off today, both using Unity stamps! The first one was a random card I made for a friend who has gone through some difficult times this past year; when people are on my mind, I like to reach out and let them know I'm thinking of them. I used this lovely sentiment from the November 2013 Strength & Dignity KOTM:

This was the first gatefold card I've made and somehow, magically, the patterned layer was guesstimated and came out perfectly. I used the "you're on my mind" sentiment from the same KOTM on the inside.

The second card is one I (sort of lazily) just whipped up for a coworker whose birthday was this weekend. I say lazily because I wanted to do more layers, but I had a lot of cooking to do tonight and wanted to get this card wrapped up quickly. I still like how it came out!

That jumbo birthday sentiment is from the Here's My Thought August 2013 sentiment kit. This is the first time I've used this kit; I used a raspberry-colored pigment ink and it came out so smooth and bold. Notice the little Queen and Co. bubble dotting the i in big; that's my favorite part. :)

I just noticed I used the same Spellbinders on each of these cards, labels four--how about that. It is a pretty versatile shape! That's it for today; as always, thanks for stopping by and taking a look at my creations! :)

Girl Power and a Wonderful birthday card!

Happy Sunday, all! Today I have two cards I've made, both using Unity stamps! First up, I had a request from my mom for a birthday card for her coworker. I wanted to make something colorful, but elegant. Of course, I used my all-time favorite Unity stamp set, Everything Wonderful. This is what I came up with!

I distressed all the edges with Antique Linen for a vintage tea-stained look and added some on the embossed parts of those pretty flourishes (Anna Griffin Cuttlebug dies!) and finished it off with Studio Calico pearls. I think it's way prettier in real life and the birthday lady loved it. :)

The second card I've got for you today is one I made just for fun; when I saw this cut file posted in the Cricut Design Space group I'm in on Facebook, I knew exactly which stamp from the I Am Woman sentiment kit I'd use with it...

I LOVE IT SO MUCH! Let me tell you, Wonder Woman was a complete PITA to put together, but it was totally worth it in the end. This card took me forever, especially since I had it stuck in my mind that I wanted the stamp inked up to look like the American flag, but I love how it came out; a fun, modern take on the original glamazon standing for all things girl power! I'm definitely keeping this card for myself. ;)

That's it for today! Thanks for stopping by! :)

April Unity {be INSPIRED} Challenge!

We're going out to celebrate a friend's birthday tonight and she loves handmade things, so I had to finally use a Fashionista stamp for the first time and put this together for the April {be INSPIRED} Challenge. I decided to go with the card sketch part of the challenge:

Pretty simple--which I like! I was daunted about all the coloring here, but I think it came out cute. :)

This was also my first attempt at paper piecing!I'm pretty proud of that fussy cut along the hem of her dress. ;) My favorite part of this card is her glittery shoes!

I also added some other glitter touches to her dress and the cake, but the shoes are just too cute. I used Stampin' Up! Dazzling Details in Silver Sparkle. The other thing I love about this card is that, since the stamp set came with three sentiments, one was really perfect for the inside of the card:

I can't wait to give this card away tonight! The stamp set I used was Sabrina {fashionista} by Tarcey Malnofski.

Now I've got to go get ready for tonight. Thanks for stopping by! :)

Unity itty bitty-a-day Challenge! Day 7

Today is the last day of the Unity itty bitty-a-day Challenge! I'm sad because I've enjoyed making time every day to create something, but I'm happy to have completed my first challenge--yay! Today I used an adorable little stamp and combined it with a some pretty cuts using my Cricut Expore...

I really love the little teapot, it went perfectly with this itty bitty, Cup of Tea. Isn't that perforated background cool? You can see all the little holes shining through in the shadow. :)

And that's my first ever challenge week completed--go, me! ;) Thanks to everyone who has come by and looked and especially to those who left me some love (I'm looking at you, Robin!). It feels great to know someone out there is taking the time to comment. :)

Have a wonderful week! <3

Unity itty bitty-a-day Challenge! Day 6

So, I totally lied about it being the last day of the Unity itty bitty-a-day Challenge...because there's 7 days in a week, not 5! ;) So yes I made another card for day 6 of the challenge and it is now my favorite project of the week...

I am impressed with myself, ha! I used one of my new Anna Griffin Cuttlebug dies for the first time here and I love how beautifully the embossing came out. The itty bitty here is Quiet Voice and it's just gorgeous. I watercolored the banners in Tangerine Tango, the scrollwork is in Pool Party and the ribbon is Island Indigo.

One more day of the challenges, I'm brainstorming already. Thanks for stopping by again! :)

Unity itty bitty-a-day Challenge! Day 5

OK, I got a little busy yesterday going on an Ikea/Target shopping spree and I didn't finish my card until late last night, so I'm posting today! Better late than never, right? For the last day of the Unity itty bitty-a-day Challenge, I made a card with an awesome message...

Yeah, I love it. I used the Do More Awesome itty bitty by Donna Downey here. For you Stampin' Up! ladies, the main colors here are Island Indigo and Tangerine Tango and I used Sycamore Street DSP/ribbon.

Short and sweet today! Hope y'all liked everything I made for the Unity challenge this week. :)

Unity itty bitty-a-day Challenge! Day 4

Sliding in just before midnight here! We're on day 4 of the Unity itty bitty-a-day Challenge happening this week in the Unity {show & tell} Facebook group and I'm on a roll! I'm so excited about today's project. I made a tag and so far, it's my favorite creation from this challenge. :)

YAY! This stamp is Follow you around globe and it is actually an itty bitty from the Stamp of the Week subscription...and my favorite SOTW hands down! I had this one for some time just waiting for the right project. If you look closely, you'll also see I used a piece from Travel Notes to lightly stamp a map on the background! The washi is from Queen & Co and is also map printed...I love it all!

It's finally Friday--yay--and I'm finally getting a new storage system for all my craft stuff tomorrow, so I get to unpack everything and really start crafting this weekend! Hope everyone reading this has a wonderful, restful weekend! Thanks for stopping by. :)

Unity itty bitty-a-day Challenge! Day 3

Howdy! Moving right on to day 3 of the Unity itty bitty-a-day Challenge happening this week in the Unity {show & tell} Facebook group. Today I made a super quick card with a positive message. This stamp is by Stephanie Ackerman for Unity, different from my usual style but I really love it.

This stamp is called Happy as you CHOOSE...I know a few people who definitely need to read this message! I threw some sequins on for some shine and to brighten up the solid black background. I colored the letters and drew the accents with a few different Stampin Up! Stampin Write markers. :)

Another day down! Hope everyone is enjoying these; I love reading feedback and appreciate those of you who have been commenting, your words totally make me smile. :)

Unity itty bitty-a-day Challenge! Day 2

Hello again! We're on day 2 of the Unity itty bitty-a-day Challenge going on in the Unity {show & tell} Facebook group. I'm liking this challenge, it's making me bust out stamps that have never seen ink before! Today, I made a card and I'm super excited about how it came out! :)

Isn't that stamp the cutest?! This is the oh, snap! itty bitty; it's one of the very first Unity stamps I ever bought and I'm JUST using it for the first time! (Don't judge me.)

I cut that fun explosion background on my Cricut Explore, which I am totally head over heels in love with. :)

Thanks for stopping by; much love and see y'all tomorrow!

Unity itty bitty-a-day Challenge!

Hello to anyone who might be happening across my blog! This is my very first post...nervous! I will be showing off all my crafty projects, from cards to tags to vinyl projects! I am starting off this blog with a tag I made today for the Unity itty bitty-a-day Challenge happening right now in the Unity {show & tell} Facebook group. Our objective is to use a Unity itty bitty stamp to make a card or tag every day for five days--that's it! Most of my craft supplies are still packed in boxes from moving into my new apartment a week ago, but I scrounged up some supplies for my first submission of the week...

I used the Love is in the Pages itty bitty, my first time finally using this stamp! I just love anything having to do with books/reading and this stamp is gorgeous!

I also used Queen & Co trendy tape (washi) and their green bubbles. I am SO IN LOVE with their bubbles, I plan on buying all the colors!

That's it for today; thanks for stopping by! :)
